Figuring out what helps you to beat stress will unlock a new level of relaxation and enjoyment of life. Our busy and fast modern lives are full of daily stress that can easily make us feel overwhelmed and lead to anxiety. However, by making some small lifestyle adjustments for stress management, you can feel less anxious. Building these habits does take time, but once you notice the results, you will be glad you tried.
My favorite tools for how to manage stress are ones you can do almost anywhere, at almost any time. Of course, doing a two-minute deep breathing exercise in the middle of a work meeting may not be the best idea, but you can always do it at your desk before or after. Keep reading for some easy stress busters.
Take a Walk
Feeling overwhelmed? Changing the scenery can be a great way to reframe things. Additionally, when you go for a walk you are connecting with the outside world. You may not be going for a hike but you will still connect a bit with nature. Even the most urban areas at least have a few trees or a park where you can ground yourself and clear your head.
Get a Hug
This one isn’t possible all the time, but receiving physical support from a loved one in the appropriate setting can release oxytocin, an important hormone that makes us feel less stressed. That’s why it feels so good to embrace someone we care about! It’s a great stress relief tool.
Keep a Journal
Writing out your thoughts and feelings can help you to process them and get them out of that circular stress thought pattern many people develop in their minds. Additionally, some people find that keeping a gratitude journal keeps their mindset more positive and less focused on the stressful things in their lives.
Take a Deep Breath
Anytime you are feeling stressed just stop for a moment and take a deep breath. You don’t have to do a full breathing exercise, although that can help if you do have a few minutes. Even just breathing deeply for one or two breaths can be helpful for managing stress and anxiety in the moment.
Take a Supplement
Herbal supplements have been used for anxiety and stress for thousands of years. We have formulated Be Serene to work wonders as a coping tool for stress in the short term and the long term. The five herbal ingredients we’ve chosen can help to rebalance your adrenal system, while giving you anxiety relief in as little as one week.
These are just a few of the stress reduction tools we recommend, but there are a lot more. Do you have a favorite?
